New Years Eve

New Year Eve we all went out on the town. I made reservations at Texas Roadhouse and we all went to dinner first. We had a wonderful dinner! Thank you Dennis and Kaylene! It was deeelicious and great company.

Why cant my hair curl in Hawaii...like not even curl just a little bit better ...like I mean actually CURL in Hawaii. Oh maybe because the humidity. When I live here I want to chop my hair off and when I am in Utah then I kinda like it okay. I will be chopping it off in April...I think

We went out dancing after dinner. Like I said Chandler does not dance! He thinks he can't dance so he will never dance or go dancing... I cannot believe I got him to go! AND DANCE! He loved it, of course he did, he was with me! It was nice because I knew I didn't want to be out long so Dennis dropped us off and I told him to come back two hours later (12:30am) and get us. Sure enough! Its awesome to have your daddy drop you off and pick you up at a dance club on New Years Eve! It worked out- we had a blast!

Girls Day

So for Christmas Meagan's gift to all the girls was a SPA DAY at Sego Lily! Im not going to lie I've never been to another spa and paid for a treatment before. I've been to a lot of spas in my day for tours, for interviews, just because, and have worked in many spas. I can't ever bring myself to spend the money not knowing if I will get a good therapist, especially an esthetician. Also I've been fortunate to do trade at various places I've worked. But relaxing at "work" is never really relaxing. So I must say this was a TREAT for sure!

We went on New Years Eve day and purely enjoyed ourselves and girl time while the boys went to A BYU basketball game!

It was a beautiful spa and I was impressed with how everything went..My 90 min massage was AWEsome. Ooh how I loved every bit of this morning! Thanks so much Meagy for spoiling us! Great gift idea, great time spent together!

Embassy Suites

We headed to Salt Lake to have more Christmas with more family! We got to see and hang out with Preston and Tracey and their kids, Jeremiah, Tina, and Bailey. Gerie and Kelly met us back in SLC as well. We all were fortunate to get our own hotel room downtown Salt Lake at Embassy Suites. It was a blast! We ordered Pizza, went swimming, enjoyed each others company in the courtyard chatting. Later that night the kids got to open lots of awesome gifts and then us siblings did a gift exchange. It was a lot of fun.

The gift that Meagan got was an "Old School" style phone that plugs into your cell phone. It was a riot watching her walk around and really use it through out the hotel. We were laughing how it would be funny to always carry it in her purse and pull it out and say "hello" when her phone rings with her girlfriends or driving in her car!

The Plant

One night Chandler's Dad was working a graveyard shift, he is an electrician for Huntington Power plant up Huntington Canyon. We went up to visit him at about midnight and I was able to get a tour of the whole plant. It was VERY interesting!

The tour started out towards the top of the mountain where I saw a conveyor belt that was moving out of the mountain very fast. The belt was full of coal and it was dumping it under a huge shed. That part alone was amazing to me knowing that there were miners in the mountain right then putting coal on the belt and with all the machinery deep inside the mountain. As the coal was being dumped in this open shed there were two bull dozers shoveling mounds of coal back and forth so the coal wouldn't pile up in one spot. The tractors move allll night long.

(Lets see if I can remember the process). Once the coal is brought down to this large shed area outside where it is kept then the coal gets put back on another conveyor belt and taken across the road into another building. The coal is put into these big cilos that is then pulverized or crushed to the consistency of sugar. I saw the conveyor belt moving with the coal on it..It was moving so fast you couldn't even see it moving.

From there the powder is then pushed into pipes and shot into a HUGE burner that is many stories tall. The coals burner is placed in the center of the plants building and it is gigantic and it sits on a pool of water. It was so cold outside but inside the plant it was very warm due to the burning of the coal- it had a very eerie feeling about it for me...

On each floor of the building there is access to the inside of the burner. Dennis opened up one of the compartment doors and it was SO BRIGHT to look at and HOT, you could see the coal blowing around inside because it maintains a certain pressure so that when these little doors are opened to be checked on that nothing blows out. It sucks everything inward.

This picture was taken looking down thru many other levels of the plant. I was walking on this grid like flooring with boots with heels. All the floors are like this so you can see whats going on on each level.

Once the coal is burnt the smoke is sent into a scrubber where the smoke is filtered to where it is clean enough to be released into the environment through the tall 600 feet smoke stacks (pictured in a previous post). There is steam that is created from the burner and it powers and turns a turban (the thingy Dennis and I are standing on) and there are coils of magnets inside that are creating energy with major forces and power of electricity. That electricity is sent out to a sub station and the electricity is sent to a grid and it is dispersed across the United States.

This huge Green machine we are standing on is a GE (general electric) made machine. Its crazy to think that they make and create these machines just like my water heater at home or my fridge.

Everything was so loud we had to wear ear plugs and hard hats and glasses. There would be random pieces of coal on the ground..Seems like is could be a very dangerous place but at the same time all the men were very nice and seemed like they knew exactly what they were doing!

We also stopped in at the offices and saw all the computers and met the men that sit at these computers to make sure everything is flowing and running just right. We could see the cilos and the different machines working away.

These are a few more photos of inside the plant where there are a lot of machines, coal dust, pipes, wires, stairs, and some more stuff.

I found it so fascinating to be there and learn and watch the whole process. It reminded me how important every individuals dirty/hard/laboring/long/late night jobs are so important to our living and day to day uses on this earth. We can easily take the small things in life for granted when switching on our bedroom light switch or traffic lights in town. I can have more appreciation now knowing with my own eyes some of these crazy jobs people have. From the miners inside the mountain to the men the service the machines and are there in case of emergency!

Chandler was so excited that he found another new hobby to do with me, not that its anything new to him but the fact that his wife can shoot a gun and shoot it well he was always wanting me to go shoot with him after I shot my brothers Glock. So here I am now in Huntington, only these were big hunting guns.

I still nailed every shot I called, of course! ;) He can't wait until we can go hunting! Yay just what I want ;) But I'll go someday! (I have been two times before)

Can I just tell you all...The 2 1/2 years we have lived here in Hawaii and all the times we've been back home to visit, I think this Christmas 2011 trip was the best! We had such an amazing time with each of our families...And little things like this in these videos make me really miss our families. I had such a fun fun time hanging with Meagan especially. She is one of the most positive, selfless, and the happiest people I know. She made me laugh so much and we had such a fun time together. I love her to death, And she does SO much for me. I am so grateful to have such an awesome "little sister" (hehe Ive always been the youngest so its weird to say that- which I never do.) Im lucky to know her!

Chandler will not be too happy I posted these videos. But oh well I do the blogging so "ya get what ya get!" Chandler never ever NEVER ever dances. He does a little at home with me and he will always grab me at home and slow dance a sweet dance with me but he thinks he is a bad dancer, but I beg to differ. We were hanging out one night and I had fun watching these two together!

2nd half of Christmas Day

We drove up to Huntington to catch a lil Christmas day with the Pearson's! As far as the drive goes(well and the stay) I was just so happy the roads were dry and the skies were clear!

Most people won't think that this is that stunning..but I have more appreciation for these power plants (more of why on a dif post) But we were driving past Hunter Power plant and I snapped this with my cell phone...I thought it was a pretty dang cool picture!

The lighting was perfect! The sunset on these rocks were so refreshing! It may sound crazy to most of you since I'm coming from Hawaii but I miss and LOVE these dry desserts and cliffs of Utah!

While we were on I-70 going EAST towards Huntington, Chandler spotted a NICE size elk on the opposite side of the freeway (west bound side of the freeway) and what does Chan do? Flips the car around drives it thru the median- pretty sure there was no dirt pathway so my lil car went thru all the weeds...thats a hunter for ya who has been on a green deserted rock for too long ;) so now we are driving WEST back towards Salina.... we sat and watched it for a good couple minutes. Then Im pretty sure Chandler flipped another Uey to go back wherever he wanted again between the two freeways. It was all good tho.

AND we arrive to a lovely, welcoming, warm, cozy, and family everywhere home! It was so great to walk in and hug everyone! Kaylene and Dennis opened up their home and had everyone over for a YUMMY Christmas dinner!

One of my favorite gifts that Dennis and Kaylene did so well on was they got us a Logitech keyboard remote! I have been wanting a google TV! YAY! I play on it too much! Now I can surf the net from my couch on my tv!

I got lots n lots n lots of cute clothes! Seriously...Hawaii might have one of the countries largest malls that I live a few blocks away from but Utah always seems to have cuter clothes. Thanks Kaylene and Meag for helping make me look stylish!

Dennis surprised Kaylene with flights to Hawaii! Thats our Christmas gift too! We get to spend more time with them! And he surprised her with ticket to see Neil Diamond in concert....yes in Honolulu!

Chan got a new watch! (another one yes!)

I had been working months n months or what felt like months on this gift...it was not easy doing it long distance with my photographer either.. but Dennis and Kaylene don't have any photos from our wedding. So I decided to make a collage of the day. It didn't turn out exactly how I wanted for the pretty penny but oh well I was happy with it! And so was Dennis and Kaylene! They were pretty surprised..maybe even a lil tear which made me happy! I ordered a nice frame for it too!

Dennis and Kaylene take such good care of us and give, give, give. I had so much new stuff I didn't know what to do with and felt overwhelmed. But Thank YOU all so much you made our Christmas amazing it couldn't have been any better!

The whales here are like elk to Uthans..But pretty sure you see more whales? I don't know give or take a lil...just look out to the ocean and you see one! Its pretty sweet!

I didn't get many pictures on Christmas Eve, we had a family dinner at the house. My brother in law Zeke and some of his family members came over as well. His older brother sings with Gladys Knight and her choir so we had the joy listening to him sing a solo for us, as well as listening to a great talk my dad shared with us.

So every Christmas Eve we have a family tradition where we gather around the tree on a sheet and have a PicNic. We have platters of finger food, and appetizers and we sit around and read scriptures, or the Christmas story. This year we did this the night before Christmas eve, we read a really nice story that was Christmas related and sang a song together! It was great!

The day after I picked up Chandler my mom had her Esthetics class graduation. She asked me if I would speak to the girls about my experience in the past 6 yrs and then kinda give them some "rah rah rah" to get out there with confidence and start working! I was one of 4 speakers. It was nerve wrecking to speak to 75 people (students and Families) but it was fun!

Picking up Chan in Vegas

Chandler flew into Vegas a few days after I did. He landed at about 11pm. I could have easily made the trip back to St. George that night but I didn't feel like it. I also thought Chan and I could have one good night together alone before we were with family for two weeks because our lives were crazy in Hawaii before we left with work and school too, I felt like I hadn't seen Chan in weeks. So I got a hotel room at the Treasure Island. It was so nice and new and the guy at the front desk was so kind to upgrade me to the highest floor 35th floor, King, corner room with all panoramic view windows of the strip and facing north-it had wrap around windows, etc it was lovely. I checked into the room at 9pm and got it all ready and warm and cozy and then went to get Chan and didn't tell him I got a room.

I pick Chan up and I tell him "Im sooo tired, you're going to have to drive back to Ut." He said "Oh No! You're driving!" Then I say "Well are you at least hungry?" I pull in to valet the car at Treasure Island and tell him we will just eat first but to grab his bags out of the car-he was putting up a fuss with me that his bags would be fine with the valet dude and that he didn't want to carry his suitcase around and to dinner. I said "no seriously grab your bag" as the valet guy is slowly pulling away with our car... He was so happy that I got a room!

We went and walked around the T.I. and found one of my modeling pictures in a store- they use it for an advertisement..kinda crazy!

hahahahahahhaha and then I turn around and there Chan was bent down...ha what a cute dork!

The next morning we went to the Fashion Show mall and did some more shopping. I HAD to go into Z Gallery.. I was drooling, to say the least! I love that Chan loves to be with me in furniture stores and the mall in general!

The irony of the whole thing was he met us for lunch at the mall and come to find out the mall had a Grimaldi's New York Pizza and they used to always eat there together!

Mike is such a sweetie! It was so fun seeing him and hanging out with him! This was a great way to start off our trip home!!!

TouchDown in Vegas

I landed at 7am in Vegas and my mom and sister Desiree was there to get me!

We went and walked around the Cosmopolitan hotel until the mall opened. There are so many new things in Vegas every time I go there! Inside the Cosmo there is a club/bar called Chandelier! It is a HUGE Chandelier that is THREE stories tall.. The cub/lounge is INSIDE the Chandelier

Venure work party

The night after C handler's work party was my company party. I had to fly out at 11pm that night to head home so I ran to the party for a few hours then went straight to the airport. I dressed for comfort of the plane and for walking around Vegas the next morning. So pardon my ragidy jeans at a nice work party. I was very impressed with how nice and well done our party was for us spa girls. We were on the very top penthouse floor of the Imperial on Waikiki Beach. The view of the beach and the Friday night fireworks was incredible!

These are the top dogs of the resorts. The Japanese gentlemen in the center back owns the spas and I had to interview with him and give him a facial as well as 4 other interviews and facials. He LOVED what I had to offer! It is so nice to work for people who care about you individually and who treat you well!

A Very Special Day-December 4, 2004

Although I was not there-Today is one of the most special days to remember. 7 years ago Chandler made the best decision of his life...other than marrying me ;), but lets be honest who knows what would have happened if it weren't for this days decision first before May 9, 2009. I don't know if its more special to me or to Chandler. ;)

Chandler got baptized! It is so hard to believe its been 7 years! I am so grateful for the people that were around him that influenced him and who was such a great example to him so that I can have him today! And of course, I am grateful for his wonderful supportive family who raised such a fine young man! My heart is full, its such a blessing to me that he made this wonderful decision. We met 6 years ago and he has come A LONG way since I first met him. He is one amazing individual! His growth, knowledge, and testimony of the gospel is out of this world! It has been so neat to see his growth from the first time we met, throughout his mission, and who he is today. And who WE are today because of his decision. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful member of of the church, Priesthood holder, returned missionary, and spouse in my life. Thank you for being my rock, my foundation, and my teacher. Thank you babe for making the best decision of your life so that I can be with you throughout all Eternity. I love you so much!

Chandler's work had over 100 tickets to the "big game" to give out to brokers and other business prospects. We were able to go out early and have a tailgate party with yummy catered food sponsored by ESPN too! I have never seen anything like this! People were over board with their tailgating in the parking lot, chairs, tables, bbqs etc. People that have never been off the island before don't know what else there is to do so they do major tailgating! HA! Okay but it was really fun!

Hawaiian Organic Spa Experience

I am really enjoying where I work. In the 6 years Ive been an Esthetician I have learned so much from every place Ive worked. Its been fun to take a little bit with me as Ive grown and become more experienced. I have loved every bit of everything my career consists of... Assisting Dr.'s in EVERYTHING from surgery to injections, doing eyelash extensions, make-up, pedis, manis, all waxing, body treatments, facials, media-spa treatments, peels, and lasers just to name a few. But, working for a resort keeps me on my toes! Everything is Quick quick quick, because we are BOoKeD! I have been fine tuning body treatments and wraps. Body treatments have usually been my last choice of treatment to perform. At Khakara I love them! I love the set up we have, the plethora of products, the dif protocols, and they are fun treatments to have to love since I do AlOt of them! One in particular, Im all over! Its called Hawaiian Organic Spa Experience. It is a Jet Lagged treatment using obviously all organic product, made here in Kona Hawaii. It starts with a cleanse with a passion fruit cleanser that smells DIVINE. Then a 20 min upper body and into the scalp massage done with straight coconut oil. Saturating the hair... and I could go on and on about what the treatment consist of but I won't make you drool anymore then you already are ;)

I bought all the products so that I can do it at home and to do the treatment on mom and sisters when I go home (possibly teach my moms students).

Organic foot scrub, Body moisturizer cream, Honey facial masque, cleanser, and then Moroccan Oil, and my coconut oil not pictured.

So of course I had to give Chandler the treatment at home. Put on a lil Pandora Spa sounds and tried to make it as spa like as possible;)

And Chandler might kill me.. but he fell asleep after I massage one of his arms. You bet I kept waking him up so he could enjoy it and actually feel what I was doing for TWO hours!

Ha! Normally you don't wrap mens heads with a head wrap unless they have long hair but in this treatment the oils have to penetrate so you do. He looks silly with it. Shhh he has no idea I took these pictures!

We had such a wonderful pampering night! This type of pampering stuff is a regular thing in our home! Geeze he sure is spoiled!

BUT HE DESERVES EVERY BIT OF IT and more!

Some of Chandler's team members that he works with got together for Thanksgiving dinner last night. Allison who we just love had everyone over to her house in Waimanalo. She has six b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l. kids that are so sweet. We just love being with them. Here is Allison's yard set up with tables and volleyball net. Her yard is awesome!

It was a beautiful drive past China man's hat!

Depend on the Spirit was the theme I came up with for girls camp, with the help of my sister in Utah! I did not take many pictures but this weekend was my wards Girls Camp! It was hectic, crazy, insane, interesting, Fun, funny, and spiritual all in one! I had a great time but sure glad its over! Next yrs camp is in like 7 months for me.. Hence, we went in the winter this yr! Love that we can do that in Hawaii! In most wards you would typically have maybe 9 girls possible up to 15 attend camp. TRY TAKING 30 people! Eeek! But It was a good time. With the help of a few leaders and my husband we pulled it off!

At night of course, so you cant see much but we had an awesome little set up with a huge tent that blocked the wind and rain-we were ON the beach.

On their free-time they got to swim in the ocean! Wow! So not like Utah but hey Ill take beach on free-time at girls camp any day!

Such a beautiful place. We camped up near the temple..North shore side of the island. We got poured on but then it was sunny! I'm glad we had okay weather it was supposed to be rainy all weekend, but it was fine! It was still 75 degrees all weekend but I wore a sweater majority of the time.

Misty- we had some major winds at times as well but our tent blocked it all for us which made it nice to meet, eat, and do all other activities!
One of the last things we did was play Hunter Hunted. Its a game where everyone gets in a huge circle and you have two people blind folded inside the circle. Then you have a paper bat that is placed somewhere in the circle. The two blind folded individuals get on their hands and knees and find the bat. Whoever finds the bat first then can stand up and has to find the other person and hit them 10 times. Everyone is yelling to try to help them find the bat then the other player. It was hilarious to see these girls walking all over the place.

Here Chandler and I are being spun. I listened to the girls screaming at me the best I can and I went straight to the bat! Then I found Chan right away!

You know you live in Hawaii when:

PRO's (the goods)

-When you feel like you are on Vacation everyday

-When you get Kama'aina rates on all the tourist attractions

-When you forget its winter until you get on FB and see snow on friends profiles

-When its hot ALL the time although Im always cold-so weird, I don't understand this

-When its raining outside and there is not a cloud above you or near and its sunny outside

-When can get real shaved ice that is Amazingly good every other mile

-When you can wear your bathing suit to school (I should try it sometime)

-When you can drive what you want, work where you want, dress like you want and NO ONE CARES or JUDGES!!!! (its not about keeping up with your neighbor, 1 up)

-When you can walk to the beach from anywhere on the island ;)

-When every president in the world meets in Hawaii for APEC in two weeks!!! So excited to see what it entails

-When its JUST YOU AND YOUR HUBS and no one to bother you!

-When you have amazing people you've met (especially thru Chan's work) and it will be so hard to ever leave

-When all your professors wear flip-flops to class, kinda weird too but understanding

-When you have a firework show every week for the tourists and us too ;)

-When every single one of my girls in YW is a convert! Ohhh I just love it! And their testimonies are out of this world! Simply amazing!

-When I can help organize Girls Camp to be in November!!!!!!

CON's (the not so)

-When all my nice white shirts from WHBM are yellowed! Very upsetting!

-When you go to heat up your food in the microwave and you have a cockroach run across the inside-inside of the microwave door..How do they get inside to door? EEWYUCK!

-When you have baby cockroaches everywhere

-When you have lizards come inside apt often..whether they come in on their own or Chan brings them in to show me?

-When your bread, chips, and anything else goes bad in two days after the purchase (humidity) eugh! Hate it!

-When your hair is frizzy ALL THE TIME

-When washing your car is pointless

-When the whole island shuts down their roads for APEC and security galore everywhere is on LOCKDOWN but a once in a lifetime opportunity for Chan and I

-When you can only drive in a circle, sometimes I really just want to drive, not fly just drive home

-When you go to the grocery store and come home with 4 bags and $150.00 dollars later

-When you have no turning lane to turn from (they are non existent here) therefore...

-When traffic is slowed and stopped ALL THE TIME

-When you are the only blonde everywhere you go

-When you don't care what you look like because its too hot to care or your makeup falls off your face anyway

-When you always wear flip flops everywhere(Im getting sick of it)

-When hiking and the beach are the ONLY options to do here on the weekends

-When you pay 1,000 for rent a month and its a cement box of 400 sq ft- ERGH its so expensive! Im so over it.

-When you HAVE NO FAMILY or life long friends to see on a regular basis

-When you hear pigeon everywhere you go- SO BUGGY PEOPLE!!

-When its hot and muggy with no AC in our apt and we walk into an oven when we return home daily

-When you walk outside and there a bazillion wild cats and kittens everywhere you go on this island- and you feel bad for them

-When you wake up to the islands Tsunami sirens being tested the first of the month EVERY month at the breaking of Dawn and they are blasting

-When you smell weed on a daily basis from some neighbors lanai- irritating!

JUST STRAIGHT WEIRD

-When you go to McDonalds and you can order spam and rice

-When you hear "Ah Brodda, No Brodda, Ok Brodda 50 times in one short conversation with a local

Im sure I could go on and on about the pros and cons of living here. I just needed to make a list to weigh it for myself. Sometimes I need to be reminded of the goods and the not so's- but I do understand they come with anywhere we live or what stage we are in our lives and its up to us as individuals to CHOOSE. I am really working on living in the moment! I can often get in a rut of wanting to be home or just longing for my girlfriends, family, and the bubble of comfort of living in Utah. But I am so grateful for this experience of living here and the indefinite/unknown time that we will spend here-I love so much about our lives. I especially am grateful for Chandler and his job and the opportunities he has been given thus far. He is amazing. He is blowing me, his manager and boss away with his abilities, accomplishments, his organizational skills, and relationships he is building. Everyone in the office is drawn to Chan in a way that is indescribable. Everyone loves him. (We know a lot of it is due to having the Gospel and spirit in our lives). He is already killing it with selling Kaiser to small business'. He is so on track for being highly successful! We are blown away on a daily basis by our blessings.

For the first time in two and a half years of living here Chandler misses Utah and being home! I was so surprised because he has always been tough, and strong, and "this is our new home" mentality for 2 1/2 yrs and now I think its finally getting to him. Mostly due to hunting season. He is going crazy not camping, four wheeling, holding a gun, being with friends, and his dad around this time of year. Seeing FB posts about the hunt. He wants it so bad. But these wants we have now are just things we can get caught up in.. We are taking each day at a time and loving it. We will see how things go over the next few years as he finishes his MBA.

Chandler and I went out to Ko'Olina beach (one of our top favs) on Saturday. I have been dying to get out to see the new Disney Resort. Aulani started to be built way back in 2008 I believe I remember walking by when they broke ground for it when I was on Vacay with my Family. It opened in Aug and it is insanely crazy awesome! Its not as "Disney" as I thought it would be.. It is definitely more local-Polynesian, Hawaiian tribal looking but still very cool decor!

Down in the pool area they have a designated snorkeling lagoon where you can get in this huge aquarium and snorkel. Or you can just go to these glass windows in this cave and look thru and watch the fish

They have a DISNEY convenient store right off from the pool and cabana area and they have everything in there! We went in and got ice cream and "goofy" candy!

I actually applied to work out here at LaniWai Spa back in June and I had a few internet interviews and then I was supposed to call them to have the following 3rd interview over the phone but I never did because I didn't know if I really wanted to drive an hr to work everyday and in traffic.. When we were there at the spa the spa/lead/receptionist said they are still hiring and that I should at least do an "on call" thing. And as tempting as it is to go work there because its beautiful.. I think Ill stay right where Im at because I love where I work and they keep me BUSY on the hour every hr with a facial. I know at Aulani they will not be fully booked!
They have this thing called a hydro garden for the spa guests and its where you go outside and you have full use to two warm tubs of mineral oils one tub in eucalyptus and the other tub was Ginger or something. Then they had six different showers with different water pressure and different faucets and spouts so you rotate thru all the showers and experience different water.
Inside the spa there was this unique feature of relaxation or for equilibrium and it has a constant stream/drip of water coming out of the tall ceiling and into the water and it caused a slow drip out of this class tear drop at the bottom and when the water dripped it causes a small ripple in the water that reflect back on all the walls. It was very interesting- but neat

They had food in the relaxation room that you could eat including organic acai and other assorted flavors of gummy bears!

They had spa treatments for even babies! Its a very family orientated spa if you want it to be.

And we toured in the kids/teen spa as well!

We also watched a beautiful sunset! They are always the best out at Ko' Olina! MMMMmm I loved it!

We are definitely saving our money and going to stay out there for a night and doing a full spa day!!!!

Another Day

Chandler and I went to the temple again on Saturday and had a wonderful time! This couple in our ward had asked if we would watch their little girl so they could go to the temple and so we agreed to meet them in Laie and just do a little switch-a-roo sessions! Their little girl is 3 and she is a DOLL! She is the most easiest, pleasant, sweet, respectful little soul to be around! We sure do love her! I have never known a three yr old who is so polite, and independent, and smart! We took her to lunch, then to the local shack to get coconut and pineapple, then to see the horses!

Here Chandler is spraying the drinking fountain water like 20 ft away and she is running thru it! It was funny!

Chandler is so great with kids! And they ALWAYS love him too!

We ended our day with the beach and a little hammerhead shark!

Pow Wow!

When I was a little girl my mom took me to MANY Pow Wows! My mom has some Native American friends and so she has always attended their festivals. I loved going as a child and watching the dances and seeing their outfits. And the FOOD! We can't forget the frybread! Chandler had never been to a Pow Wow and I have been wanting to go to one and a few weekends ago I can't believe Hawaii had a Pow Wow! He humored me and came along! He actually loved it but it was a little different here in the islands so we just need to go again sometime when we are back on the mainland!

Chandler and I went golfing today... it was refreshing to get outside and be in the cool mountains instead of the beach! It was a beautiful day!

This cart path was like a painting! It was gorgeous! I couldn't get over how the light kept shining down on us in the craziest ways!
We were just over the Pali Hwy so the clouds always settle on the mountains and then it was around 4 o clock so the sun was shining from behind the mountains!

This hole was my favorite! I hit a 5 wood 160 yards and it landed right on the green a top that ledge!

It was a great day, we had a great time together- laughing and messing around and sure was a beautiful course!

Family PowellPalooza 2011!!

Finally I get this post up! Chandler and I bought plane tickets to go home for Labor Day weekend for my birthday! It was a quick trip but it was so worth it! Here is my sweet husband carrying our bags! The second we landed my Dad and Juanette picked us up in Vegas and we drove straight to Lake Powell. We spent 4 days on the lake and then drove straight back to Vegas and got on the plane! Its a good thing that the 5 hour flight is not that bad at all!

Here is the WHOLE family in front of our houseboat! My Dad and Juanette, Coby Sr. and Coby Jr. and his girlfriend, Ian and his girlfriend, Carol, Desi and Zeke and baby Janson, Antonio and his wife, Dennis and Kaylene, Chandler and I, Kimberly and her kids, Kevin and Lauren, Mom and Kenneth, and Sierra and Jaret and their kids! A big group but so awesome!My dad showing everybody how strong Janson is!! 6 months old and he can do pull ups! Most infants would let their arms be limp when held like this at their wrists and being lifted up but he is so strong so he holds himself up with bent elbows in pull up position! He has a 6 pack already and little defined muscles in his back! It is hilarious!

Palooza group 2011 was our neighbors for the weekend! So basically a group of 200 single/and married Mormon people go to Lake Powell every year and take it to the extreme!
You Name it, This group had it! A huge bike ramp from the sand hill into the lake, A tube slide off the hill, volleyball tournaments, a 20 minute illegal firework show, a dance floor with a DJ, lights, and TWO foam machines, a BLOB! And much more. They were the nicest group of people!
They kept coming over and inviting us over to hang out so we would go over and interact with them or watch them do their crazy stunts, jumps, and throws off the blob!
My sister Sierra and I and my niece Dawn went over for the foam party! It was a blast!

Here is one of their houseboats and they connected the blob to it and threw people into the air all day long! It was so entertaining to watch! I wanted to do it so bad but a lot of the girls were getting bruised, and hurt-so no thanks! But my step brother did it, Chandler did it, my niece Rhiannon did it, and a few other boys in our group did it!

Later after dinner we had our own dance party with glow sticks! We open the sticks and throw the color everywhere! Its really cool!

After dancing with the glow sticks we as a family let lanterns go into the sky! Each couple got a lantern. They are these big white biodegradable lanterns and they take off of their own from your hands and you can watch them for up to two miles! It was a very special thing! It reminded me so much like the movie Tangled! I think everyone really enjoyed it!

We had such a wonderful time! I'm so happy we were able to go home for my birthday and be at Lake Powell with both our families! Oh how I making memories at Lake Powell!

Abhasa and Khakara

Okay so Ill try to do this in as little of a nut shell as possible! So.. as most of you know I have gone back to school to pursue my bachelors degree, which I am LOVING so far but boy it can/has been stresssssful! It probably doesn't help that I have a full plate with taking 18 credits(never been to college B4), just got called to be the 1st counselor in the YW (yes a new calling already- I tell ya, our ward is needy so you literally go where they NEED you, also I gladly accepted it as it was to take over my friend Olya's calling due to her temporary return to Russia after the funeral), and I'm a girls camp leader, I'm working TWO jobs and trying to be a wife! Wheww! Yes! Talk about busy!

As some of you know, but I have never mentioned it on here, I quit working with the plastic surgeon... Basically I didn't care for him, his office, his ideas, his practice, his style etc (and that's me being nice) ha! Maybe I have been spoiled in the past and now have high expectations after working for Dr. Crofts and Dr. Patel in Utah. But, I was not about to get involved in a job and get walked over before it was too late to get out. I know that it was not for me and not where I needed to be at in my life. This is when I was strongly prompted to go back to school after many prayers and pondering. The idea on going back to school became so clear to me it was unreal. And the time was so right. Any who so being in school for a few weeks I started looking for a job that could be fun that would be for the evenings and that would fit my schedule, be a mindless job and still continue to bring home some mula. So long story short of the process I am "seriously so blessed" that I got "in" at Abhasa and Khakara Spa! Abhasa is a world known Resort Spa here at the Sheraton in Waikiki and Khakara is a world known Resort Spa in the famous Royal Hawaiian Hotel both which are located right next to each other on the beach front. They are both owned by the same company. So if you get hired at one you are employed at both! Which is so nice because being employed at two spas means I am constantly booked and I mean constantly! They are the two busiest spas in Waikiki because they have been around for YEARS and the marketing is out there known to the world with it being corporate. I'm a little sentimental about the Royal Hawaiian because my Grandpa used to take my Grandma there years and years ago to stay often at the"pink" hotel. (Gma 96 yrs old today)

Anybody who has been to Waikiki has seen the Royal Hawaiian!

So far I love working in Waikiki. I love my guests the majority are Japanese which are of such a sweet culture. So easy to please and great to work with. My first day I had a 5 hr shift..4-9 so in 5 hours I had 5 facials. Each day has been no different. They keep me slammed and it will be like this all thru out the year. Thanks to the Japanese that have money! So it is so nice to be working hard and getting paid resort pay!!!

And I am SO SAD I have to say goodbye to my fun fun job! I will miss working at the mall. Many of your don't know that I have been working part time at White House|Black Market for almost a year now! It is not my choice to quit but I'm not making any money there. I can't burn the candle and both ends. I have to simplify my life. I guess that means simplifying my closet too. I love the girls there so much, working with tourist shoppers and helping spend their money on cute outfits, and (YES the clothes, Ill miss my clothes, that's why I am/was there). I hate having to quit but its for the better.

I, of course do not have a good enough excuse, but Chandler and I have been dying to get back to the temple and we finally made it back last week! When we moved out here the temple was closed for a year or more for renovations. Then we finally got our temple recommends renewed from expiring in May. WoW! It has been way too long since we've been, but we are back on track now! We had a wonderful time and it was definitely needed!

Such a beautiful day! The temple grounds are always so peaceful with blooming Hawaiian Flowers. Being inside with the new renovations was so nice! Always a great experience!

With everything that has been going on in our lives between losing a friend, work, school, and being busy it was a wonderful experience-words can't describe.

My heart aches so bad it hurts...

Two amazing souls and one lonely soul left behind....

What an interesting last few days it has been... I am pretty much speechless... but I would like to try to share some things that are on my mind at this time. Chandler and I just got home from a funeral of a dear friend of ours here in the McCully ward. We are too young to be attending any funeral of a friend that is about our age. Two years ago when we moved into the ward one of the first couples that we met, Heber and Olya were the cutest and sweetest couple to be so warm and friendly to us. This past Sat. the 3rd Heber past away. He and Olya have been married for 7 years. They met here in Hawaii at BYUH. Heber served his mission in Russia and Olya is from Russia, but met here in Hawaii after Heber's Mission. Heber received his BA, MBA, and PhD and has been working at University of Hawaii as a researcher. Olya too, is soon to graduate with her PhD from UH and teaches at UH currently in Economics. Both, truly brilliant individuals. They lived a life together full of adventures- They were constantly on the go with exploring new beaches, hikes, other walks of lifes, and the other islands. They have literally traveled the world together(Russia, Mexico, Paris, Asia, Belgium, and much more). They were the couple that truly cared about EVERYONE. I have never met two people that are as humble, and as Christlike as they. They reached out to so many people old and young. Every time I saw them together I had the biggest smile on my face because I can just tell that they are madly in love with one another. Serving in the ward and community to the fullest and so selfless. Chandler and I have spent many beach days with them, have had them over to our house for dinner, over for dessert and a game of cards, over to help Chandler with Economics HW, went camping together, over to their house as well, and many church activities spent together. They became one of the couples that we grew close with as there are few young couples in our ward. Heber loved the outdoors, he loved fishing, spear fishing, snorkeling, free-diving, kayaking, and anything else that had to do with the water. Just a few days ago we were at the beach together and I look up above to one of the trees that lines the beach, about 20-30 feet up there Heber was climbing a tree with all fours wrapped around the trunk. He always had to be doing something that kept him entertained to the extreme. Heber would go free-diving sometimes in the early mornings on the wknd and then meet up with Olya and the rest of the group later that afternoon at the beach. Last Sat. he did not show up at the beach with the group when he said he would be there at 2pm. He went free-diving alone at 7am and experienced what you call "shallow water blackout" most likely on his first dive down. Oyla went to go find his car at about 430 as she began to worry...she found his car. Heber and his dive flag was found by a charter boat shortly after 5 of the west coast of Oahu.

The funeral was a wonderful service today, it was full of tears as well as some great stories to bring laughter. It was pleasant to listen to the speakers, and we felt the spirit in unbelievable amounts- so strong as the violin was being played, "If you could Hie to Kolob". I am so grateful for the Gospel in our lives, I am so grateful to be a part of the LDS faith and to know the things that I know and to BELIEVE. I am grateful for Eternal marriage and to know that I am married to my eternal companion. I have a great understanding of our Plan of Salvation. I understand the process that needs to be taken and in which order. I know that Heber was welcomed into the presents of our Savior and understand he is in a better place. I know that it is selfish to still want him here on this crazy earth life... but I can't stop thinking of Olya. She is left behind. Her future with him and her expectations of life with Heber are gone. After the funeral I was able to see her for the first time since the tragedy. I held her face in my hands, I held her little body in my arms... I held her so tight and didn't want to let go...we cried and we cried some more... we laid each others heads on each of our shoulders. I understand that this is a part of life but in the moment I can't comprehend it, I can't believe it. My heart literally aches for her. It's not Heber that I worry much of, it's the pain that I feel for Olya who is left behind to carry on alone in this life for the time being. She is the one suffering now. I held her again, she cried again, I sobbed again, this time on Chandler's chest as he held us both... I wish so bad that I could take some of her pain away. No one deserves to be left behind from their companion this early. I can't believe it, I don't want to believe it, it's not real, and when you ask her its really not real and its not happening right now to her. I just wish I could be with her 24-7. I wish I could hold her, hug her, cry with her... and I know I will get to do that for her off and on through out this mourning time. We always think it won't happen to us or to someone close to us. Life really is so short. As I write this the tears are rolling down my face, I feel so helpless and I care about her so much. I haven't ever felt so much pain for a friend before. I want to do so much for her but don't know what-I know its because she has had such a huge impact on my life by the example she is. This is why I am hurt and so affected by her sorrow. She is next to perfect. I want to be like Olya-seriously. Again, I am grateful for My Heavenly Father and My Savior and all the blessings that have been given to me. I am so fortunate.

This local Waimanalo family invites us along a lot of times! Here were are a beach birthday party! Great Local food!

I feel like I have been hiding out or something... I kind of am I guess-hope to be back to complete normalcy in a couple weeks ;). Not a whole lot has been happening. Unfortunately I don't have anything exciting to blog about. Our lives lately have been pretty chill. We didn't buy a house or move to another apartment for that matter, we aren't buying a new car, we aren't going on vacation, I don't have a wonderful exciting birthing story to tell or even near pregnant for that matter either, I have no family reunions or family parties to share about- although we did miss two family reunions this last weekend on the mainland that I am sad about, no family(Chan and I) photos to share, no crafty thing to tell of that I've recently made, no beach parties or festivals, and no funny stories, any who you get the point.

For any of you who are/were familiar with reading seriouslysoblessed.blogspot.com I am guilty of exactly the kind of "Mormon" she pokes fun at! (all in good humor and done respectfully). I loved reading her blog- she was a riot (so sad she is done writing/having to keep her identity hidden). She nailed every little thing right on the head every time of how girls, women, mothers, married couples are in our culture! So every time I go to blog or read blogs I cant help to think of the things she talked about and get a giggle. A lot of times it keeps me from blogging because I always want to share what I'm happy about and grateful for but don't most of the time, haha! We all know I'm not a super ooshie mooshie girl on my blog. Personally, I choose to keep a lot of soul, sincere, emotions of blessings private and not open to the world of blog readers probably for the same reason of reading Seriouslysoblessed. There is nothing wrong with how people chose to blog- its just funny to me. But behind my pride- and naturally being like any other Mormon girl with her blog- I want to share that I am Seriously so blessed! And in all reality I really am grateful for my:"perfect husband" "perfect life" "perfect relationship" "living in paradise" "challenges that bring us bigger blessings" etc.

So I did just want to mention that Chandler and I have been through some great experiences recently and presently. One: we have been thru a lot spiritually. Simply Amazing. Words can't explain. We are in a wonderful spot right now. Our ward is great, our Bishop is wonderful, and literally a saint- he deals with SO much. He said to us that our ward is one of the most challenging and needy in the country (due to poverty). We have new callings- Chandler is in the young mens. When he stood up in sacrament to be sustained all the local boys had smiles ear to ear and thru up shockers with each other- lets just say they are stoked to have him as a leader. I got called to be the nursery leader/helper- eek! But so great! Two, Chandler's job is just clicking along. He is still loving it and keeping up with the challenges it brings but so rewarding! Of course, any one who knows Chandler knows he is successful at everything he does so yes he is the #1 sales rep on his team with Kaiser Permanente! He gets to work from home too- so I see him lots! What a huge advantage right there! Its fun! One thing that feels AMAZING is we have full health care insurance. With me NEVER having health care coverage in my life, it feels awesome to go to the doctor whenever I want. SO I do. I went to the Gyno just because I wanted too the other day and didn't pay a dime and never will- not even a co-pay. And I love my Dr. She's wonderful! To be where we are in our lives right now, we are so fortunate to have health care. (dental, eye, etc). Next is my family doctor check up for shots! FUN! Getting shots leads me to another blessing and opportunity I've been given- the decision I've made to go back to school full time at Chaminade. I've sadly never been to college. I became an Esthetician right after HS and have been working in the industry that I love so much for 6 years. But with no kids in the near future, and Chandler's job it just makes sense for me to use this time wisely and get as much education as I can at this point. I start in two weeks and I'm stressing out about it already, the unknown, the papers, and projects required. I have a schedule full of classes. We will see how it goes. I'm excited for the change and willing to take it on. I'm grateful to have Chandler who supports me and who is willing to help me along the way. He truly is so understanding, so loving, so sensitive to whats going on with me, still in the honeymoon stage with how he treats me, so fun, always happy, hard hard working, and glad he is a smartie pants so he can help me in school ;)!

Chandler has been invited to play and be on the golf team at Chaminade again. His assistant Bball coach is now the Golf coach at Chaminade so he wants Chan! His work is cool with him playing on the team so that will be fun for him to be apart of that and play this year! It will pay for some of his classes as he will be starting his MBA in Oct in the evenings.

Its amazing how things have really fallen into place for us. We realize everyday how the Lord's hands are a huge asset in our lives. We could not be happier- life is good.

My Little Buddie

I had the opportunity to be with this stinkin cutie pie for too short of a time. I stepped in an helped out with him a few weeks ago. I had so much fun getting to know him, getting into a routine, getting to play, run, eat, nap etc allll day long everyday. He kept me BUSY. It was was obviously my responsibility to care for his needs. Gave me a good taste of what my future holds and how challenging it can be but so rewarding. I've been around many friends babies, cousins, and sisters babies and always have had a decent idea of how hard it can be at times, and joyful but this was a great reminder! Yes- I still want kids! No it was not Birth Control for me, it actually makes me want one even more and want one right NOW! Ha! But I have to wait ;) Ill just enjoy others!

When I went home to Utah in June I flew back to Hawaii on the same plane with my Step Sister Kimberly and Niece Rhiannon. They have been planning to come visit Chandler and I and I timed it right now I could go home then come back to the Island with them. it was a BLAST to have them stay with us! Rhiannon is 11 and she is one amazing young lady! Chandler and I purely enjoyed our time with them. Rhiannon was so fun to play with, talk with, laugh with, and share all our fun activities with. She was fearless! I don't know who had more fun Rhiannon or Chandler. Chandler was so awesome to get involved with everything and be a kid! Here is the day we (they arrived) Chandler got them fresh lei's!We went snorkeling and it started pouring on us. But we just wait it out!

I had a wonderful two week visit to Utah. It was a busy two wks! Because of my stolen phone these are the only photos I have. While I was home it was the IBS hair, nails, esthetic, and cosmetic convention in Vegas. This was my 10th year now in attending-crazy! It was my moms 19th year! My two sisters, my mom and I always go together and make it a girls weekend getaway! Here is my mom and I waiting at Roy's to eat and have a meeting with a few friends in the industry that we have met over the years.

Alejandro, my mom, and I walking the trade show floor- stopped at a booth that had a cotton candy machine-random. Alejandro is a friend of ours that we met years ago that was in the process of opening up his own business. He now owns a Men's spa in Vegas called Fino For Men! Its a beautiful barber shop and men's spa! We love to catch up on business ideas and strategies each yr!

It was fun to see a lot of my girl friends, friends, business owners, product companies at the show! I even bumped into friends from Hawaii!

While I was home I ran up to Provo to take care of just a few things on our condo and just check in on it. But thanks to Chandler's sister Meagan who is living there and Chandler's parents for keeping the place in good hands and whipping it up in shape after the past renters moved out. I was driving to Provo in my little car (that I miss so much) I almost forgot how to drive on freeways that have a speed limit above 45mph. It felt good to just drive- 80mph weird too. Ha

Okay so I know I live in Hawaii and have gorgeous lush, green mountains... but really- who wouldn't miss this? Ugh! Bright blue skies and these mountains, oh I can't wait to live near those again someday!

While I was in Provo for 24hrs I managed to stop off at the hospital because my cousin had just had her baby a few hours prior. It was so good to see Kim, Tyler, Jamie, Stephanie, my aunt Julie and T&J kids! I was so happy to say a quick Hello while up in Northern Utah with such little time! Here is the Dabo's new baby, Esther! What a doll face she is!

Chandler and I met up for a double date in Kaneohe with Chandler's boss and his wife. We went to the windward mall and walked around to waste time for an hour before our movie started. We stopped at a sunglass Kiosk to try on a few pair of glasses. I hate carrying a purse so I don't use one much anymore. I had my phone in my back pocket at one time. Then my HTC EVO Android got stolen. Okay- it seems so stupid and sometimes I don't understand why I feel the things I do sometimes. When I ask myself why am I sick to my stomach over this? I was even hot flashing to be exact. Why do I care so much about my phone being gone? Is it that its brand new to me? Is it that I paid 350.00+ for it? Is it that I feel lost, empty handed? I feel safe with it? I have to be able to receive calls and text messages? Is it that ALLLL my info is out there now for some stranger to read...Facebook, yahoo account, all my text conversations (sweet nothings back and forth between my hubs and I) haha, or my PICTURES!? So of course no one turned it in. That's kinda the nature of the beast out here in Hawaii. Never have expectations of people returning things here. Honest people sometimes are few are far between. Earlier this month Chandler's boss' phone got stolen AT church!!!! LDS yes... Sad story! Weird I know! I was walking in the mall searching, looking.. and Cassie says to me "can you imagine finding something that's not yours and keeping it? Taking something that isn't your own and keeping it?" I have never thought of keeping anything that wasn't mine. I get caught up on thinking everybody thinks that too. It is not in my nature to ever do that. Its not ethical. its not right. Its not okay. Some people out there are selfish and don't care and think just the opposite. They have no idea how bad it sucks for me. So I have been thinking about this the last 24 hrs. I am sick to my stomach because not only is my phone gone.. Its JUST a phone right? It is JUST a phone but also a portion of my life too- really haha. A few years ago no big deal but now smart phones are our everything. literally. A lot of my privacy is temporally gone and a portion of my life the last three months. My cell was loaded with photos and that's the only thing I care about. I can close my cell account momentarily, I can get a new cell, I can retrieve my contacts online, I can eventually receive calls and texts again soon- whoop big deal, I can feel safe again carrying a phone, but my PICTURES! ;( ;( Egh it simply sucks! I went home to Utah for 2 weeks a week ago and I had soooo many pictures on there. 400 plus photos. goner. I met my nephew for the first time, went to the cabin, saw lots of friends, went to Vegas with my mom, saw family, did lots of fun things.

Oh well- nothing I can do about it now. Move on.com. Anyway my next post I will have a few photos I uploaded from my trip. Thanks to my insurance and being spoiled I have a new Evo in the mail its here on Tues. So Ill start fresh. Ill definitely be doing some things different privacy wise this time. Im trying to justify that the movie Larry Crowne was worth losing a phone over ;) Mmmm Not so much! Kinda a Dull one!

WOW! I have to admit- yes I'm human and we all love positive attention and didn't realize so many people would leave me such sweet comments. It feels good have people love me and express positive words of encouragement towards me. Thank you for the phone calls, text messages , and comments left on my blogger. I'm just another girl that likes to blog and express my life with my hubs in Hawaii through photos and journal-ing.

So after the anonymous post I decided to monitor my comments that were being left on my blog. So I would have to read them and approve for each comment to be posted. I did not know how to check for comments to approve them until JUST tonight I saw ‘15 comments’ needed to be approved on my dashboard. I was surprised I was beginning to think with '0 comments' that I should not have expressed what was on my mind. I thought maybe I offended more people and did more wrong by writing 'dear anonymous'. Yeah so I’m still learning how to run blogger- glad I got that figured out ;) So a month later after my anonymous post I am just now reading everyone’s comments and reactions to my post.

So first off, THANK YOU to all of you and your love and the support-really! I am totally fine and didn’t mean to make a big deal of anything at all. I just felt like saying a few things to get them off my chest.

This post is for one person only. And that one person knows exactly who they are. Quite frankly so do I. Thanks to my Live Feedjit that tracks the blog pages of readers who visit my blog. This person was the only person visiting my page at that particular moment an anonymous comment was left at 6:40 am HI time-10:40am Utah time. Anonymous had a smooth move only for a moment to be sneaky but then to trace me straight to your blog. To my surprise. I never would have thought. I hardly know you and you obviously don't know me. Normally I wouldn't make it a point to speak up or correct. But with this incident I will.

Who does one think they are to judge another? To Point a finger at? To have enough time on your hands to post a comment of hurtfulness. I want to share a few scriptures with you. Read intently with an open mind.

Matthew 7:1-5
1 Judge not, that ye be not ^bjudged.
2 For with what ^ajudgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what ^bmeasure ye mete, it shall be ^cmeasured to you again.
3^aAnd why beholdest thou the ^bmote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the ^cbeam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou ^ahypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

What this scripture is saying in lay man terms is: If you are going to judge someone, the judgement is back on you. Its not your place. Maybe you don't think it was a judgmental comment but it definitely was. The tooth pick that is in my eye that is my imperfection must not be pointed out by you because you have a 2 by 4 beam in your own eye. Therefore You can't see to judge me. You are not one to judge. You are not one to hurt someone when you have your own imperfections too.

Another Scripture is D&C 121: 17
17 But ^athose who cry transgression do it because they are the servants of sin, and are the ^bchildren of disobedience themselves.

Harsh, I know. But true. What this scripture is saying: You live your life imperfect. You have sins too. You cry transgression(speak out to me) because you aren't happy with yourself.

I am not one that is justifying anything. As a woman I know what I stand for. I "REALIZE" what it means to be a beautiful woman. You don't know me. You don't know my background or how I was raised. You don't Know what Ive been through or what I might be going through now. You don't know my testimony unfortunately. You simply don't know me. I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and I have many imperfections. Many things that I need to focus on and work on. I am a worthy individual in the LDS faith who holds a calling and serves my fellow neighbors/members of the church. I faithfully hold a Temple recommend. Its a bit of an exaggeration of you to say what you did about "EVERY" photo. If I have ever offended YOU through my journal/blog or anyone while reading, my apology. Never my incentive. I am not asking YOU to read my blog so if there is something posted that you don't approve of simply don't read it.

I have learned so much while living here in Hawaii. It is a different culture than any other place I have experienced. Especially living in the bubble of Utah. Don't get me wrong I love it there. And I will be back someday. But its interesting how you realize some differences after being gone. But for now- the people of Hawaii have taught me to l.i.t.e.r.a.l.l.y. accept anyone and everyone. Not to judge them by who they are, or how they live their lives, by what they wear, what they look like, how they talk, what they drive, or do for a job to make a living. The church especially out here is very accepting of everyone. You never have to worry about what someone might say about you, or how you are "FORESEEN" by others. People mind their own when it comes to differences. I can often sit next to someone in church during sacrament or other meetings who might be wearing jeans, who might be wearing a sleeveless dress, or strapless for that matter, or smells bad, who has tattoos all over their body- sometimes even their face, someone who might be a little coocoo because of drugs. But I am just happy that we can all worship together in this environment. Better at church then anywhere else. Acceptance.

I would like to think that you are working on your own imperfections just as I am focused on my own and solely my own. I WOULD NEVER tell you or anyone else something to do or change or even something to realize especially when we all have our little weakness'. I would like to think that you can teach your own child the important things of the world. Teach the child to love and accept everyone, everything for who they are, and not by the things they do or wear. You are only in control of yourself and the early years of your childs' life. Teach the things that you best can. Free agency is there for us to learn and become a young woman. To experience the things we need to as individuals on our own time. Please worry about yourself and not me. No one should have enough time to judge others, life is seriously too short- we need to do our part. Direct your energy and your focus on yourself and your family.
I understand we live in a world with very many negative a dirty worldly things. Sex, drugs, gangs, immodest clothing, Bad TV shows, movies and bad influential books, violence, etc. But Its up to us to chose as individuals as to where to draw the line on a personal basis. You cant hide from everything and you cant shelter your children from everything but we can choose right from wrong to the best of our ability and choose best rather than better. We get so caught up in this world with thinking that a lot of things we think are OK but really from some church leaders guiding us along and in their perspectives its not okay.

I am a very happy person and I live my life for me. I do my best. I am so grateful for the people who have taught me some of the most valuable things in life- at this moment mostly the people in my life that have taught me to LOVE. to accept. The ability to love one self first and to love others amongst me.

I would like you to rethink the comment that was left on my post. Do you feel the same way after reading this post? Do you feel okay with trying to "justify" something to me!? Do you feel it was necessary to say what you did? It hurt. Was that your incentive? Maybe not- but think about yourself before you think to correct someone else.

Paddle Boarding in Haleiwa

Chandler and I have been wanted to go paddle boarding up the Haleiwa river for the longest time. Finally we made it up there and rented boards with some of our friends Courtney and Garrett!

Chandler has paddle boarded before with his Basketball coach but it was my first time. Luckily I got right on the board and had enough coordination and balance to enjoy it. We had a great time. It was so peaceful too!

It is a huge sport out here. We went to a paddle boarding quicksilver competition the other day too and it was neat to watch. I'm afraid Chandler has a new sporting love!

We saw so many turtles just hanging out up the river. I didn't take my camera because I didn't want to ruin yet another one by falling in, just my luck. So no photos.. I ended up staying dry but didn't want to risk it!

f.i.n.a.l.l.y. Chandler is done with school... for a moment anyway. He has graduated with his Bachelor's in Business Administration. His goal was to get a 4.0 GPA and- of course he did! Chandler was not going to walk but when the family decided to come he decided to walk last minute. It was SOOO nice to have his whole family here to celebrate. We all made this special day about him and his accomplishment!

That's right my hubs is so pro-active and already has an amazing job. He is on top of his game! With the help of some family, and some family friends that live here he's in! Chandler landed himself an interview with Kaiser. He blew them away. They said he was by far the best candidate they interviewed! Could not believe how well put together he was, professional, best interviewer, most intelligent, etc. Yup that's my lover! That's HUGE! Looks like not only will Chan and I being staying here for another year and a half for Chan to finish the MBA program- we will be staying until we feel its time to go. How did I know we would end up living here longer than 2 years?! I knew it ;) He is a sales representative. Will be setting companies up with health insurance programs. He LOVES his job already. We are lucky he landed this great job right out of school with a great salary and commission plus huge benefits for the both of us! Gosh that feels good!

Chandler has worked so hard and I am so grateful for him. Words will never describe how lucky I am. I know this sounds so cliche when I read other peeps' blogs about their better half... But really I could not be happier with this fine husband of mine. He works so hard because that's who he is and he and I are so fortunate and truly blessed to have one another. He graduated on our 2 year anniversary that was a great gift to celebrate for the both of us! (he said I deserve his diploma just as much as he does because we helped each other thru it)

After Graduation we went out to dinner and got to celebrate our TWO years! Where did these last two years go?

5-09-09 This was the best day of my life ...I wish we could relive that day. The best we do is watch our wedding video frequently. We have been thru so much in two years.. but we are sure in love more today then yesterday. Its kinda pathetic in a good way, we are obsessed with each other. Usually cant keep each others hands off each other-whoops did I say that out loud?! Sorry its just the truth but that's what happens when we live in 400 sq ft of apt space. Joined at the hip for sure and I love it!

Chandler's family came for a visit! It was wonderful! They came kind of spare of the moment because they found great flight prices out of SLC. They came in good timing for Chandler's Graduation, Mother's Day, and our anniversary ;) We did lots of fun things.. Unfortunately the weather was not the greatest which was a little frustrating- at some points the rain would not let up so it limited us of doing some things out doors. We still made the best of it! Meagan, Dennis, and Kaylene have been out previously a few times- it was fun to have Kelly, Gerie, and Grandma Bea come this time too!
Here is our Clan at Waimea Falls hike. It was the first time Chan and I have been on this hike- It.was.amazing. I highly recommend it if you are ever on Oahu. It is like hiking through botanical Gardens. Its a paved path the whole way and many different type of plants, trees, flowers, and much more. When you get to the end there is the pool and waterfall and on a normal day the waterfall is usually more like a trickle. It had been raining so much that no one could swim.

There were even wild peacock's. Beautimous I must say! This guy here was struttin his stuff-let me tell you, he knew he was gorgeous and he was showing it off. Literally twisting, twirling, and turning. Almost like a model at the end of a cat walk. But I was loving it just as much as he was loving the attention!

One of the days we went out to Hanauma Bay and snorkeled and sadly I did not take any photos- except this one. I was sitting on the beach and I heard the loudest boom, and bang. I turned behind me to the path that you walk on down to the park and where the bus takes you up and down and a huge boulder came crashing down the mountain- I watched it hit the pathway. It shattered! People were lucky they were not walking there and Then- it would have been deadly.

We enjoyed a day at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Every time I go I always think that Ive seen everything possible the park has to offer- Each time it actually gets better and better and I enjoy it more! We had a great day!
Kelly and Gerie on the Parasailing Boat. We all went Parasailing and we were all in Heaven.. well almost that high! It was so quiet and peaceful when you are up there is the sky- It was tandem which made it fun to be up there with someone!
Gerie had her camera there on the boat and we took so many awesome pictures. But something happened to the cameras' setting of being over exposed- so none of the photos of anyone up in the sky turned out ;( maybe next time.

We went to one of our favorite restaurants, Haleiwa Joe's. They had these HUGE wooden slippers on the wall as decor and Gerie and Kaylene put their feet up for a pic! Kinda cute ;)

We had to enjoy some time at Lani Kai. It was a little bit windy and cold for me so Grandma and I relaxed in our beach chairs covered in towels and talked a great story! Here is Chan running- yes trying to run anyway. (He is loving being out of his cast) He is playing catch with his dad with this new little ball we have called a woozboo or something and it bounces on water- actually a pretty fun thing!

Every time we went to North Shore we stopped at the shrimp shacks for fresh Shrimp. Its all part of the journey. I do not eat seafood of any sort so I get to go and watch and smell the Garlic!

Don't worry I didn't order two for myself- Dennis was off on the phone so I'm holding his too. I order Cotton Candy and Creme brulee - it is so stupidly good. Chan gets Cinnamon- which taste exactly like hot cinnamon bears! :)

I think they could be models for the Store. That's straight advertisement right there by the flowery trees!

We went on a lunch buffet cruise for Mother's Day. The idea was so Grand and everyone was thrilled to go out to sea for two hours. I am not one to get sick at all, not on rides, cruise ships, cars- nothing. but I think with the storm that we had the sea was soooo choppy. Our boat was rocking BAAAD. I did okay but boy I had to mentally not think about it and I could hardly walk I needed to be seated at all times. Walking and waiting in line at the buffet getting our food would have been a great video to be sent into AFV. And poor Kaylene- we thought it would be the most perfect adventure for Mother's Day but she REALLY felt the boat. I wont go into detail :( but we all felt so bad because it was not a fun thing for her at all! It was probably the longest two hour lunch for her. We were happy to be on solid ground!

Okay FYI. The look that is on my face is a very common look I do often. I have NO IDEA I am doing it or why. I have been noticing a lot lately that I have a mean scawel look. Mostly my brows quenching together and I look P.O. I have a few random photos of me where I am doing it. And just for the record, I really don't mean it! And I really am never P.O. I promise. I apologize now to those of you who think I'm mean or rude or cold or upset. Im really not. I am working on trying to relax my facial muscles. I find myself doing it a lot outside and its mostly because its so bright. Chan has to remind me a lot of times to stop. I have had Botox injections on about four different occasions and that helps me out A LOT. But for now. ..sorry if you see me like this. ha!

On their last day we went to Pearl Harbor- and again You think you see everything or know everything possible about Pearl Harbor when you've been four times. But it was the best time Ive ever been. I learned so much and I loved it! So surreal so sad but so wonderful they have the memorial.

We have been busy busy! As always there really is NEVER a dull moment with Chandler and I here in Hawaii. We had some more visitors! We love visitors! I tell who ever...that they need to come out and stay with us before we move off the Islands- Who knows when that will be. When I lived in Provo while Chandler was on his mission I met some awesome and fun people and of course made some great memories. Two in particular that I met while living there- Clint and Craig came out to stay with us for a little over a week. We all had a BLAST! We all took hundreds of photos. Always a photo overload too with my posts'.
All my pictures are out of order but this was Easter Sunday at church. Craig, Clint, me and Chan.

The guys came along with me to a going away dinner party of a friend of mine, Brea who I work with and our hubs. (They are moving to Brazil for the summer) We went to Jimmy Buffets. Craig me, Chan, and Clint shared the Volcano Nachos... I wonder why they call them Volcano? Seriously is that mound of grease necessary? They were yum though!
I think we BBQed on the beach every other night! We chose a different beach every time. It was so nice! Here we are at the Hilton Lagoon and Beach. Chan and I were messing around, Or shall I say Chan throws me around like I'm his Basketball!

We went out to Ko' Olina to Paradise cove to see the turtles. You are always guaranteed to see turtles there and they are so friendly. They swim right up to you and want to touch your legs and see whats in your hands.

Their last night we did a BBQ at Magic Island after a day at the beach.
Just all hanging out-relaxing! Thanks for the great times. We love having people come visit- it gets us out to the tourist spots and enjoy the beauty of the island! Miss you guys tons already!

Samadhi (समाधि samādhi, Hindi pronunciation: [səˈmaːd̪ʱi]) is the state of consciousness induced by complete meditation. The term's etymology involves "sam" (together or integrated), "ā" (towards), and "dhā" (to get, to hold). Thus the result might be seen to be "to acquire integration or wholeness, or truth" (samāpatti). Another possible etymological breakdown of "samādhi" is "samā" (even) and "dhi" (intellect), a state of total equilibrium ("samā") of a detached intellect ("dhi"). Samādhi is the main subject of the first part of the Yoga Sūtras called Samādhi-pada. According to Vyāsa, a major figure in Hinduism and one of the traditional authors of the Mahābharata, "yoga is samādhi." This is generally interpreted to mean that samādhi is a state of complete control (samadhana) over the functions and distractions of consciousness.

I wanted to do something for myself. Find something that I could make my own. Something that I could do for a hobby and have fun with it and love it. I found it. I love my Samadhi classes. Samadhi Hawaii is a company here that offers basically aerial acrobatic training. I have always loved watching people fly, wrap, curl, roll, and twist on silks. Whether it be in plays, or Cirque du Soleil. I have always found it amusing and unique. I have attempted to do silks. So far it is amazing! Obviously as you can tell from above I searched the definition. It is a type of meditation and yoga expressed through the silks. It is HARD. A lot harder than it looks. But I will continue my classes and we will see where it goes from here.

Here are a few girls in my class. We have 4 silks and we just rotate thru the movements and learn from each other. Our teacher Nicole is awesome. Maybe some day I will be like her ;)

A few special visitors for the day!

My 94 year old Grandma and her new husband came to visit. Yes she just got married about a month ago. She met Vern in our ward in St. George. He was a friend of my parents and my grandma and he lost his wife about two years ago. Just before our wedding. He came to our wedding and Chandler met him there. About a year ago my grandma thought she was on her death bed in the hospital when she broke her hip. It was a scary time. But she is a real trooper. She healed up nicely and here she is visiting us in Hawaii on their honeymoon! :) ha! They are both still so healthy and totally with it. They are on a two week cruise in the Hawaiian Islands. Their cruise stopped here for the day in Oahu so we were there to pick them up! We had an afternoon of great shopping, while Chandler and Vern chatted up a storm. My grandma treated me well at the mall ;) and she got herself some beautiful things too! Then they told us that we must take them to a 5 star restaurant so they can treat us. And it sure was a treat. We took them to a 10 star restaurant. My favorite. ROYS! They had never been and they could not believe they hadn't been to a Roy's before. We went to the very first Roy's that it originated here in Hawaii. I'm sure they will be back to the one in Vegas they love Vegas. It is so funny because they have all these trips planned. They went to Phantom of the Opera, They are going to Celine Dion. :( without me. They are going to Mexico, Czech Republic, and a few more I cant remember. I say good for them! They have the time, the energy, now the partner, and the money! I said to my grandma "ugh and why aren't you taken me with you?" and she said "well you didn't ask?" Ha! Geeze wish I would have known sooner ;)!

Date Night

Ah! How I love our date nights! This night I was in charge of date night... I didn't know what to do.. My friend Morgan that I work with at the Dr.'s Office gave me this idea for our date.. We went out to dinner to a place called Haleiwa Jo's In Kaneohe ..it was Great! Here we are eating ;)

This View was STUNNING! This of course does not do anything for what it was really like. The restaurant is basically a tree house. It sits up on this ledge and its all open to the outside and it over looks the Haiku Botanical Gardens, the pond, and Gazebo. Its right up against the mountains. I was in AWE while eating. I think I almost enjoyed the view better than my food. Ha! Times like these is when I am still asking myself.. " I live in Hawaii? WoW!"

My friend Jessica and her husband Aaron came to Oahu for a little vacation from St. George so we got together a few times with them! Jessica and I went to High School together but we never really hung out in High school.. who knows why.. we should have. She called me up one day and said she and her husband was coming out to visit and she knew that I lived here. So we played together through out the week. I Didn't take many pictures but here's a few! We went out to dinner to Cheesecake Factory!

We went to the UH baseball game. Its always a fun game. Awesome stadium and field! L.O.V.E. baseball!
They are such a fun couple! Im so glad we got together! We cant wait to hang out with them more when we live on the mainland!

He said it right....

I was so shocked that he did a blog post! For two years I have been trying to get my husband to blog or even just teach him how to do a post- its so easy! And I guess it took the Jehovah Witness' to be more exciting or eventful than anything Ive ever done or impressed him with enough to blog about it! Ha! Okay but he did bring a sweet tear to my eye about posting about my new job after a TOUGH two weeks for the both of us-busy wise. I was so over my other job and everything that was going on there and working two jobs. Morning and night. Chandler has been so so busy with school its l.i.t.e.r.a.l.l.y. indescribable. Chandler said yesterday " I think today has been ONE of the craziest days of my life" It was a long day too. He stayed awake for 43 hours straight doing homework- no joke, straight! We woke up in the morning he took me to work I came home that night from work at 10pm he was doing HW and had been since the morn., went to bed at midnight he was doing HW, I woke up at 6am and he had NOT MOVED from his computer desk. My poor husband has been working his tail off. No nap. I have never really pulled an all nighter before and if I have then I at least went to bed in the morning.. He was a trooper and happy of course. He didn't even flinch. The next night he finally came to bed and slept! Usually tosses a lot in the middle of the night. I am a very still sleeper. He didn't move once last night! He was zonked out.

Anywho he got his projects done, his papers. and a proposal (research paper) for a local historic tourist place ( Iolani Palace) done! He is such an awesome student. I cant believe the stuff he knows, does, and his delivery of work. It far succeeds I'm sure your average business man after 20 years in the work force! He will be one amazing employee. Speaking of... He has a job opportunity at his finger tips with Kaiser Permanente. He was told that time was on his side to decide. They really want Chandler to take the position and they are not filling the position until Chandler tells them yes or no. Chandler is waiting to see if he gets a Medical Red shirt or what his plan is with his foot. So we have to be patient. Not too much progress on Chandler's foot as of yet. So we will see if He plays ball and if he gets scholarship or if he will get this day time job and do the Master's Program at night.

As for me I am content with staying here. I'm okay to stay now for another year and a half while Chandler finishes up school. Its crazy what your working environment can pull you done and reflects through us. I have such a better job that it has been a blessing for sure. Its a Night and Day difference. I felt like I wasn't growing, I wasn't moving up- it wasn't possible at the spa, and I wasnt being challenged. I love the fluff but I missed the Medical side of Aesthetics. My boss at the spa is/was crazy. She was yelling at me one day so I thought to myself as her voice was ringing in my brain "what am I doing here? in these conditions? getting talked to like this? I am better then this!" No one has been happy working there. I haven't been shaky in a long time. I felt bad walking out because I am loyal, I am responsible, not unprofessional but I knew I just needed to stay strong and not allow someone to treat me that way. I didn't want it to end sour but it kinda did, I have never been treated so poorly. I did nothing wrong, It makes me feel better that 7 other people quit this week. An HOUR later I had a new job. It was so hard for me to quit but I needed to do something better for me. I know I was being protected and looked out for. Everything fell into place so I know it was the right thing. Tough but it turned into a blessing. I called up this well known Plastic Surgeons Office here in Honolulu and asked if they were hiring and the girl on the other end of the phone said "no". But she still told me to stop in and drop off my resume. I wanted to meet the Dr, just so it would help my chances. So I did that day. I went in and he hired me right then and there. I started the next day. It happened so quick and right before my eyes. I couldn't keep up. I have been there two weeks now and I LOVE IT! Its a ton of stuff to learn and do. I'm so overwhelmed but its what I wanted- a challenge. And it is, I am his surgical coordinator and more some. I have never had a job where so much is in my hands. Its scares me and intimidates me but the girl that is training me is WONDERFUL. We have become decently close and she is moving back to Utah where she is ironically from (cedar) So weird too. Our office does EVERYTHING. Every cosmetic surgery you can think of -Dr. C does. We have 11 lasers as well. Every laser ever made for the cosmetic world we offer, And all the other medi-spa stuff as well. I got to watch my first surgery with Dr. C. He has his OR right there on the premises. So he allowed me to sit in on the surgery and watch yesterday. It was a coronal. Basically an upper half face lift. He will let me circulate anytime I want in the future. I am already experiencing so much more and will be able to have better opportunities for me in the future. He talked to me about everything he was doing and I asked a bazilliion questions to him thru surg. It was fascinating. I'm surprised I didn't pass out. I was qweezy but I'm getting tougher and will get used to it. There hasn't been a day where Dr. C hasn't told me Thank You. I get paid Hrly. Consistent and Better, I get benefits and my hours are awesome! 715-315 M-F! Love it! And he respects me.
