It has been a couple of BUSY weeks! First off our computer has a major worm/trojan virus! We can barely use it and when we do its in SAFE mode! So lets hope we can get that fixed! We would be devastated if we lost everything. And we cant afford to get a new laptop at this point! Second, My parents were here visiting and we were hiking Manoa falls last week and I slipped in the water at the water fall and I had our camera in my pocket and I full on got drenched!!!! So no pictures... prob not for a long time too...I cant go buy a new camera just yet..that's like my third one of the year! Whoops!Update on Chan....He is SO busy with school and homework it is not even cool! I don't think its fair on me ;) When I get home from work he is straight to the computer for the rest of the night! He can only take 10 min to eat dinner and then he's back at the books. So I cook dinner so I can get some attention! Anytime there's food involved Chan is THERE! He has run into a few problems with his schedule for next semester and classes that interfere with practice in the morn 8am-10. He is staying on top of that with his counselors and Deans to make sure he can still graduate in May. If not we might be here for one more year. Hopefully the school works with him to arrange the classes he needs this semester! Its been very frustrating for Chandler to work out the kinks I guess that's what happens when Chaminade is a private small college. He's willing to do anything on his side of it to get done. Now its up to the school to do their part to make professors do Independent studies or something. He is working his tail off at school and in practice. I don't know how he does it and stays so focused and at this point has straight A's taking 21 credits! He broke his finger a few weeks ago and was out practice for three weeks. The day he got released to play Chaminade had their first game against University of Hawaii (big fun game) Chandler had an awesome game for being out for that long! Then last week the team traveled to Seattle Wash. to play two D2 schools up there that are ranked number 1 in their own D2 devision. Chaminade came home with two W's! Chandler played 35 min in both games and averaged 11 points and 8 1/2 rebounds. He played well! Last night he had his first home game! We won 81 to 70.I cant believe his season is already here! We are totally living this senior year up and enjoying every minute of his last college days!My camera didnt take that great of pix. Here he is playing at UH

Chandler and I went and enjoyed dinner in Waikiki at PF Changs - it was a loong day... Then Chan and I went with one of his teammates, Ryan and his girlfriend, Ala to NightMARES! It is a live haunted house here in Honolulu. We were looking for something to do last night and decided we should go get ourselves scared! It was nice because it was not that busy on a Wed. night. We walked right in..it was a pretty good time. Chandler had his arms around me and I walked through first...Chan was squeezing me so tight we were sweating. It was funny! I obviously couldn't take photos...but it reminded me of the Halloweens I spent in SLC and going to Rockypoint and Nightmare on 13th street. Good times! Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween week preparing for Halloween night!
warning: Some gruesome bloody details told....So it was a crazy moment from the time Chandler picked me up from work yesterday around 4pm. We were driving home on a really busy street. Chandler hears a loud crash noise as we waited at a red light in an intersection and he glances in our rear view mirror and sees this guy on his Harley Motorcycle about 5 cars behind us get T-boned by a mini cooper. Chandler instantly pulls our car off to the side of this busy road and jumps out of car and runs to this man laying on the ground. I'm sitting in the car for a split second and my heart is racing. I look back and see the man holding his head and then his leg and rocking back and forth on the road in pain. I cant stand to sit in the car. I turn the car off and run back as well. Two other people had gotten out of their cars to help but didn't know what to do for the man. Also was too much blood for some people. The mans leg and foot were gushing with blood and fat tissue was hanging out... his leg was torked. Blood was spilling everywhere and he was losing too much too quick. Chandler rips his own shirt off and ties a tourniquet on his leg to stop the bleeding. Chandler called 911. I knelt down next to the guy on the pavement and asked him if he had pain in his head, back or shoulders.. He said "no just my leg and foot". I got him to lay back and lay in my lap. His head was in my lap. I held his shoulders and his head firmly to try to keep him calm with firm but soothing pressure. The poor man was in so much pain I wanted to cry for him. He was probably about 50-55 yrs old, a local Hawaiian looking guy dressed in some nice shorts and a tucked in, button up, Aloha shirt. His shoe landed about 25 feet away from him and his bike. His nice Harley bike obviously tipped over and messed up. He was conscious and I kept talking to him to make sure he wasn't going to pass out on me. He was in a state of shock as well as myself. Chandler tied his leg, called 911, called his daughter to inform her, directing traffic, and then help arrived 10-15 minutes later. They got the man in the ambulance and gave him Morphine and he was in stable condition. Chandler was video interviewed by the news (shirtless) ha and told a few police officers what happened. The girl that T-boned him obviously didn't see him and she felt so bad and was a mess of course...I would be too. She felt so bad. I don't think she hit him at a very high speed but his bike is what sliced his leg and foot open. Chandler is amazing to switch into HELP mode that quick. He did a lot for the man with no hesitation. Chandler went about it in a very humble manner. I tried to comfort the guy the best I could, I wish I could have done more for him..You just feel so bad in the moment. I could not stop thinking about it for the rest of the day after we left the accident. Replaying the scene again and again in my head all night. It was a weird and solemn rest of the day. Chandler and I walked away happy that we could help a little but definitely feeling blessed. We are so lucky. We sometimes take our safety for granted just when we drive from one place to another. It makes us want to be very very extra careful and have PATIENCE when behind the wheel. The man should be fine and heal up normally..so we think! He probably doesn't even know what Chan nor I look like or really what we did but I know he too is happy someone stopped to help him until proper help arrived.
I thought these photos were pretty impressive.. Last week this is what the intersection right by our apartment complex consisted of... The water line pipe busted... They are redoing our street- repaving it and they believe it caused too much pressure on the old water pipes under the road. The Hawaii water company came out and fixed the pipe and got it all repaired and minutes later it busted right back open again and the poor men that were fixing it were SOAKING wet trying to work in the hole they dug up in the middle of the road. These pictures are crazy...It shows how high the water was spraying! Most apartments were left without water for that day- Luckily our apartment was not affected.
