Flying to Vegas

So some of you might think I'm crazy but I had to blog this- the smallest/weirdest things amaze me..we flew to Vegas on the red-eye and we will ALWAYS fly the red-eye from now on! Hawaiian Air has new airbus' 330's that fly back and forth red-eye (until they get more planes) it was AWESOME! Its was Huge (more seats across, more leg room, more lavatories, WAY MORE TVS one for every seat)! You enter in the center of the plane from the terminal which makes sense so you don't have to walk past first class it just starts where normal coach seats are and you go Left if you are first class. The plane travels faster than the Boeing 767 so we got to Vegas in 4 HOURS! And it only cost us 350/person round trip! We were in Heaven! Some fun things that kept me awake ALL NIGHT- the screen has 1000's of things to do! showed durations and time Showed the earth on a curve and where the plane was played lots of trivia Played lots of games Watched the plane over the ocean Watched where the sun was on the earth Listened to a plethora of music- it was overwhelming It was so cool you could listen to any song and watch any music video and watch any movie, any tv show or series on this little TV. I was wanted to sleep on the flight..ya do you think that happened ..nope! The steward was so kind to us... Probably because Chandler was in a boot and on crutches but he hooked us up with unlimited drinks and our personal tvs for free! ( they cost 15 bucks for EVERYTHING- some things are complimentary) We were in Heaven! If anybody gets a chance to fly to HI from Vegas you got to get this plane!! We landed and Desi and Zeke had just gotten into Vegas as well from Vegas so it worked out that they could pick us up sense we booked our flight last min. We ran errands and shopped in Vegas.. I thought this building was crazy! Its a new Medical building for Brain Doctors. Kinda looks like a brain... We stopped at one of my favorite furniture stores West|ElmWe were tired!

More Visitors!

This Holiday season came and went WAY to fast! We had a couple of very busy months! In Nov we had my Mom and Kenneth here, then we went to Maui and Chandler's Parents here visiting, then we had my Dad and my sister Desiree and her husband Zeke come in Dec and then Chandler and I flew out the same day they left to go home for three weeks! Here are a few posts of all that in a nut shell ;)

We had a BLAST with my Dad and siblings here. it was go go go as usual with visitors. Here is Desi and Zeke. I was so excited they could come out with Desi being 7 1/2 months pregnant- her doc gave her the O.K. to come. She is pretty impressive! She did EVERYTHING! We did a lot of walking, hiking, shopping, snorkeling, site seeing, and yummy eating!
(this is the beach where the majority of LOST was filmed on the North Shore)

You cant go to Nprth Shore without stopping at the temple!

With my dad in the house you always know you're going to eat right! We cooked dinner almost every single night! It was so fun and such great food! One night we went to the beach and had a BBQ- here is a pic of my cute dad and his homemade chips! I was proud! Ha!
And my dang cute hubby running the grill- doing what he does best and sweating in the humidity! He so funny ;) Im okay with that! lol One night we went downtown Honolulu to see the city lights it was very different then anything I've seen in Utah but it was great to see the culture of Hawaiian come out in the Holiday season!
I have so many other pictures but ill have to stop with those.. we really had such a great time and the whole week was full of laughs..anytime Zeke's around its a given!

Being craziez

So one evening Chandler got a wild hair to all take a walk on the beach and to catch beach crabs...We get down to the beach and we cant see any crabs crawling anywhere.. So now we have to entertain ourselves... I thought this photo was funny I didn't know Chan's foot was there but you can hardly see him because his black shorts...
Being a cheerleader This shot was funny I look like I was placed in this photo..They were chatting away and I ran and jumped off Chan's Shoulder..without a flinch they just keep chatting away as me and Meag were taking pix of ourselves Meagan Strutting her thang!I was trying to do the splits..maybe Ill work on that a Lil more I like how the water sprayed up behind me... Look at that air WOMAN!!!!! Great pose! Meagan and Kaylene jumping around! Resting after jumping around ;) Muah..Love him!!!! Okay we are done being dorks for now..Until next time..PEACE out!!!

Snorklin.. Haunama Bay

Unfortunately I didn't get to go because I had to work but that's okay I'm a wuss the water is too cold..haha like 77* cold okay okay not bad but still... the fam went snorkling at Haunama bay..Its just a given you have to go see the fish when you come to Hawaii!

Handsome!
Beautimous!

Thanksgiving

it had been a LONG EARLY morning from flying back to Oahu from Maui.. We got right home and had to put the bird in...This was my first Thanksgiving turkey to cook..So with the help of Meagan and Kaylene it was GREAT! Here I am cleaning the bird out..or maybe I was shoving something in..who knows but Im not sure how I felt about it.... Working in my tiny little itty bitty kitchen :) I found a yummy recipe on line for a rosemary roasted honey glaze..it had great reviews so we tried it... It turned out awesome! Better than I thought..Whats all this talk about :good Luck Cooking your first Turkey?" it was a piece of cake! ;) Chan got home from Maui an hour after us..Finally I have him all to myself after a BUSY week in Maui... I have no decent pic of all of us:( Our apt is so tiny but all that mattered was that we had great food on our plates and family to be with and to shared our thanks! Thank you so so much Meag and Kaylene for doing dinner thank you for who you both are! I was so glad we could all be together! And thank you Chandler and Dennis for doing all the dishes and putting all the food away!

EarthQuake rattled us all in Maui

So one evening in Maui around 6:30 we were all sitting around the living room of our condo on the 12TH FLOOR just hanging out chatting and all of a sudden the sliding doors start rattling and I instantly thought for a split second "Geez those are some strong trade winds coming thru" then when it didn't stop I starting freaking out knowing we were all experiencing this earthquake and we were all caught wide eyed starring at one another...then it REALLY didn't stop...Our whole hotel was SHAKING- the chandelier, curtains, fridge, TV, closet doors were just a rattling away! In the moment it was quite crazy and when it finally stopped we were all a little shocked. I froze up I literally could not move. We checked instantly on the Internet and it was a 4.7 magnitude..it felt HUGE and went on FOREVER!
Here is our hotel..being at the top I felt like it was worse. I felt like it was going to collapse below us..every thought possible went thru my head about this building tumbling below me.

Here is the courtyard looking down... the whole islands felt it.... It just is kind of rare to have earthquakes in Hawaii.. I mean ya they happen but most people in Hawaii have never even felt one before.. They aren't that common here so totally unexpected..
The epic center was just off the coast of Makena.. the big red square on the map
Chandler was with the team watching film at the time in their hotel and Kentucky was playing against Washington at the Civic center and I guess it shook the gym, the players and media tables up pretty well even in that roudy rambling rattling gym as is!
Pretty crazy.. I'm not going to lie I didn't like the feeling at all! Now that I think back it was pretty cool haha ...I was a little distraught the rest of the evening...too, because I felt two more aftershocks that were in the 3's.
